Hi there, does anyone know about the Wellington Explorers group? I'm wondering what the minimum age your child needs to be for your family to join? My son is 4, and I wasn't sure if its just for primary ages?
I did send an email enquiry to the group but not sure if it went through properly so thought this might be a quick way to find out! Thanks

The Wellington explorers website is at http://explorers.wellington.net.nz and has contact details via the "contact us" link at the bottom of the page.
The group tends to cater mostly to primary school age kids, but there is no minimum age.
There is also the Small Poppies group for preschool kids. I haven't actually had anything to do with them but it looks like there is some info at http://www.giftededucation.org.nz/smallpoppies.html. There is contact details for the Wellington group on the "Contact us" tab of that website.
Wellington Explorers Club March meeting – Drawing Comics and AGM
• When: Sunday 10th March at 2pm - 3pm
• Where: Crofton Downs School hall
• Bring: a plate of goodies to share for afternoon tea, and some kids
There will be a drawing class for the kids run by Bronwyn Poultney:
Drawing Comics (for all ages)
The kids will decide on a theme and design and create thier own short comic which they can share with the group. Different drawing styles will be used and time permitting, a story can emerge.
Bronwyn would like to know how many kids are going to come along, and thier ages to help her plan the event. Please RSVP to me (jonathon.exley@gmail.com) so that I can collate the info for her.
How do you find out about activities at Wellington Explorers? We have been members for one year but have never been to any events - I thought it must have been a quiet year but I see from the magazine there are events at the end of every month. I have checked the website and it says just turn up but it does not have a contacts link and the 'calendar' doesn't seem to work. Thanks :)
We too would also love to be apart of Wellington explorers, however I have held off joining as the website always appeared to be inactive and not much going on. So jealous of the Auckland one as they seem to have interesting things going on regularly.

I'm the President of the Auckland Explorers, and it takes lots of involved people and hard work to get these interesting things happening - so if you want to see them happen, don't hold off, get involved! :-)
Unfortunately our previous website has disappeared, after the community hosting service we were using had some issues.
